Opportunity Details
The program allows Ph.D. students from either the U.S. or Israel to spend time in the other country, gaining hands-on experience and learning new skills and techniques in agricultural, food, and nutrition sciences.
Stipend: USD $1,500 per month
Travel Allowance: USD $2,000
Duration: 2–6 months
Collaboration Goal: Strengthen U.S.–Israel scientific partnerships
Ph.D. students in agricultural, food, or nutrition sciences
Citizens of either the United States or Israel
Planning to conduct part of their doctoral research abroad
Able to secure a host mentor in the partner country
Have not previously received a BARD Ph.D. fellowship

Secure Host Mentor
Mentor must provide a brief CV
Signed letter confirming supervision and relevant research topics

Ensure files are combined and formatted correctly
Incomplete submissions are not reviewed
Review & Notification
Applications evaluated by BARD’s Technical Advisory Committee
Recommendations sent to Executive Director and Board of Directors
Final decisions released
