About Five Arts Centre - Krishen Jit Fund
The Krishen Jit Fund is a grant program that supports innovative, experimental, and interdisciplinary artistic practices in Malaysia.It aims to celebrate original Malaysian art, encourage creative risk-taking, and promote new forms of artistic expression across disciplines.
Benefits of Five Arts Centre - Krishen Jit Fund
In 2026, the Fund will give out grants ranging from RM1,000 to RM20,000 for:
- Workshops
- Attachments / residencies
- Experimental productions
- Research and documentation
- Writing
- Creating new work in music, dance, theatre, writing, film, visual / performance art
- Others

Application Date and Process
- You may apply in English or Bahasa Malaysia.
- Please keep your application limited to material that directly supports your application and our understanding of your work.
- For work samples, please choose only 3 samples that best reflect your work. Additional samples may be included in a separate appendix.
- Your completed application with all information (including CV) should not exceed 10 pages.
- Each application should have only one project proposal.
- Please use Times New Roman, single spacing, font size 11 in black, in your application. Please do not use any colours for the text in your application.
- You must complete all 5 sections of the application form. Please follow the order given.
- The results for the Krishen Jit Fund are usually released in September. Hence, projects should be for after September 2026.
- The selection panel reserves the right to call applicants for interview should the need arise.
- Recipients of the Krishen Jit Fund are not eligible to apply for the grant for the next two consecutive years from receiving the grant.
