The Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Program provides funding for early-career researchers to conduct full-time postdoctoral research in Sri Lanka.The programme supports high-impact scientific research aligned with national priorities and encourages innovation, publications, and industry collaboration.
Benefits of National Science Foundation, Sri Lanka Postdoctoral Research Fellowship
- Monthly stipend of Postdoctoral Research Scientist is Rs. 125,000.00.
- Research Expenses up to Rs. 1,000,000 per year up to 2 years (needs justification)
National Science Foundation, Sri Lanka Postdoctoral Research Fellowship Requirements
- Applicant should be a citizen of and residing in Sri Lanka. Applicant should be registered with the STMIS database of the NSF and committed for fulltime research.
- Should have a PhD (obtained within 02 years) from a recognized university.
- Proven research, development and innovation experience (Publications in refereed journals, patents etc.).
- Merit of the research Project addressing an issue identified as a national research priority.
- The duration of the research project should not exceed 02 years.
- Availability of laboratory space and facilities at the host institution to undertake the proposed research work (assurance from the Head of the Institution is required).
If facilities not available should provide assurance from the available institute that this facilities institute that this facility will be granted to the research.
- Availability of a collaborator from the relevant industry, is an added advantage
