The 2025 award winner will use the funding to work on her/his project. In September 2025, the project will be presented as a preliminary teaser, and the final version of the video report will be screened at the 2026 festival in Perpignan. This year, they will be happy to present the final project of Alan Lau (2024 winner) "The Gordian Knot" on the slaughter of buffaloes in Nepal.

- The recipient will be awarded a grant of €8,000 plus the use of pioneering Canon professional video equipment to be made available on loan.
Canon Video Grant for Short Film Documentary Requirements
- Open to individual professional photojournalists or videographers (no group entries).
- No restrictions on nationality.
- Must have completed at least one video reportage (broadcast or not).
- Proficiency in French or English required.
Application Date and Process
Submit a complete application dossier including:
- Signed application form
- ID or passport copy
- Proof of professional status
- CV or biography with summary of key collaborators
- Anonymous project proposal (max 2 pages)
- including synopsis and treatment
- Project budget and financial estimate
- Sample of a previously completed video report
The application dossier must be sent no later than May 27, 2025 and must be sent without acknowledgement of receipt to the following FTP:
