The Caplan Foundation for Early Childhood is offering an opportunity for innovative research and development initiatives that aim to improve the well-being of children from birth through age seven.
Only first-year funding is offered (no multi-year support).
Administrative overhead must be modest (≤15% of direct costs).
Projects must show results within the first year.
Grants are only awarded to projects that strictly follow the Foundation’s programmatic guidelines.
The Foundation does not fund:
Projects outside the U.S.
Existing program operations or expansions
Capital equipment purchases or renovations
One-time events or art/literature creation
Projects by individuals or for-profit entities
Political or religious organizations or content
Medical research applicable to both adults and children
Two-step process: submit a Letter of Inquiry (LOI) first, then a Full Proposal if invited.
Next LOI deadline: January 31, 2026
LOI must follow a specific format and include:
Organization details and mission
IRS tax-exempt status
Budget and grant request amount
Project title, description, innovation, and alignment with guidelines
