The Mata Atlântica Viva 2026 initiative is a funding opportunity designed to empower community-led projects focused on conserving and restoring Brazil’s Atlantic Forest while enhancing local responses to climate change. This initiative seeks to strengthen the role of communities in socio-environmental actions, particularly in the restoration of the Atlantic Forest and the development of climate change adaptation protocols.

Casa Socio-Environmental Fund : Atlantic Forest Alive – Supporting solutions for Conservation and Regeneration Requirements
- Legally constituted non-profit organizations in Brazil that represent local or traditional communities, rural or urban, that develop activities with low impact on the environment. Examples of local and traditional communities: indigenous peoples, quilombolas, riverside dwellers, artisanal fishermen and fisherwomen, shellfish gatherers, coconut breakers, gypsy peoples, caiçaras, extractivists, pasture communities, urban peripheral communities, local activist collectives, among others;
- Organizations with up-to-date institutional documentation;
- Organizations that do not have a CNPJ are also eligible and can submit projects in this call through a partner organization. See the guidelines on partner organization in the Application Form and in the frequently asked questions in item 10 of this call for projects.
