Developh - Tropical Internet Research Fellowship Program Requirements
- Researchers, writers, designers, artists, and technologists with strong ties to the Philippines or broader Southeast Asia — at any stage of their career. You don't need an institutional affiliation or an academic background; independent practitioners are welcome.
- They welcome applicants from any present geographic location, but give preference to those within the Philippines, particularly outside of Metro Manila, due to the state of publishing opportunities in the country.
- Work investigated may be explored in relation to an academic thesis, but the produced artifacts should be a distinct, new work separate from the thesis.
- They especially seek people with a rigorous, curious research practice; grounded interests in digital cultures, infrastructures, and technology; investment in researching culture, labor, markets; critical, but not nihilistic nor blindly optimistic stances towards technology; experience with fieldwork & social practice; desires to investigate the Southeast Asian/third-world internet on its own terms; and a capacity for independent work.
