In today’s hyperconnected and algorithmically curated global landscape, the very foundations of soft power and cultural diplomacy are undergoing a profound transformation. Social media ecosystems, artificial intelligence, and immersive digital tools are not only reshaping the ways in which cultures are perceived and projected but also redefining how states, institutions, and individuals engage in international dialogue, influence, and cooperation.
The Digital Soft Power and Cultural Diplomacy in the Age of Algorithms forum serves as a high-level, interdisciplinary platform that convenes policymakers, thought leaders, digital strategists, scholars, and cultural actors to critically examine the evolving intersections between technology, culture, and diplomacy. The forum aims to foster collaborative discourse on the ethical, strategic, and geopolitical dimensions of digital influence—while exploring innovative pathways for promoting intercultural understanding and shaping a more inclusive and dialogic global order.
Organized by the Canadian Center for Cultural Diplomacy (CCCD), in collaboration with regional and international partners, this forum aspires to contribute to the global conversation on reimagining diplomacy for the digital era.
Format: Hybrid (Online and In-Person)

- To explore how digital platforms and algorithmic systems influence cultural narratives and soft power dynamics.
- To identify strategies for ethical and inclusive digital diplomacy.
- To highlight successful digital cultural diplomacy initiatives globally and regionally.
- To build a global network of experts and emerging leaders in tech and cultural diplomacy.

- Total: 200 participants
- 10 Fully Funded International Participants (flight, accommodation, meals, forum access)
- 20 Partially Funded Participants (accommodation + forum access only)
Digital Soft Power and Cultural Diplomacy in the Age of Algorithms Requirements
- Minimum age: 18 years old. There is no upper age limit – both emerging and experienced professionals are welcome.
- Open to individuals studying or working in fields such as: International Relations, Communication, Cultural Studies, Diplomacy, Technology, Social Sciences, Media, Arts, or related disciplines
- Individuals with experience or interest in digital platforms, public diplomacy, or cross-cultural initiatives are especially encouraged to apply.
- The official language of the forum is English. Applicants should be able to communicate effectively in English at a conversational level.
- Demonstrated interest in topics such as digital diplomacy, soft power, cultural exchange, or global communication
- Applicants should show a willingness to share their experiences and apply forum insights in their communities or professional fields
- All applications will be reviewed based on the following indicators:
- Clarity and authenticity of the motivation letter
- Relevance of interest and potential contribution to the forum theme
- Leadership potential and social impact capacity
- Commitment to inclusion – we aim to ensure gender, geographic, and professional diversity
- Priority consideration will be given to youth, women, and individuals from underrepresented or marginalized communities
