About Fordham- The New York Public Library (NYPL) Research Fellowships in Jewish Studies

The Fordham-NYPL Research Fellowships in Jewish Studies is a joint fellowship program between Fordham University’s Jewish Studies Program and The New York Public Library (NYPL). The program supports scholars from outside New York City who want to conduct on-site research at NYPL, especially in the Dorot Jewish Division.

Benefits of Fordham- The New York Public Library (NYPL) Research Fellowships in Jewish Studies

  • Short-term fellowship:

    • $1,250 per week

    • Duration: 2–4 weeks

    • Residency between Sept 2026 – May 2027

  • Mid-term fellowship:

    • $25,000 stipend

    • Duration: Spring semester (Jan–May 2027)

  • Long-term fellowship:

    • $60,000 stipend

    • Duration: Academic year (Sept 2025 – May 2026)
