The Gamma Mu Foundation is a philanthropic organization dedicated to improving the lives of LGBTQ+ individuals through targeted grantmaking. By focusing on rural areas and underserved demographics, the Foundation seeks to bridge the gap in resource allocation and support “evidence-based advocacy” and sustainable community health.
The maximum grant available per project is $15,000.
To qualify for a Gamma Mu Foundation grant, applicants must generally meet the following criteria:
Organizational Status: Must be a non-profit organization (or have a fiscal sponsor) dedicated to LGBTQ+ causes.
Leadership: Strong preference is given to organizations led by LGBTQ+ individuals.
Target Demographic: Projects must serve rural or underserved LGBTQ+ populations.
Focus Areas: The project must align with one of the three pillars (Community, Health, or Education).
Identify a Rural Need: Clearly define how your project serves a specific, underserved LGBTQ+ population in a non-urban area.
Draft a Budget: Ensure your request does not exceed $15,000 and covers only direct project-related activities.
Evidence of Impact: Collect data or research that supports your proposed intervention (crucial for the “Research and Advocacy” track).
Submit Application: Complete the online application form through the Foundation’s official portal.
Capacity Statement: Explicitly describe how this grant will help your organization remain viable beyond the funding period.
