About GCE Young Climate Changemakers Fund for Youth Organizations

Opportunity Details

The Youth Climate Changemakers Fund is a major new initiative designed to transform the climate justice movement into a more inclusive, accessible and representative space for young people. Built in partnership with Climate Action Network, WECF, Christian Blind Mission Ireland and ECOLISE, the fund supports youth groups, grassroots initiatives, disability-inclusive climate action and ecofeminist movements. This first call aims to build a strong community of youth climate leaders who will contribute to the broader Funding Fairer Futures initiative.

GCE Young Climate Changemakers Fund for Youth Organizations Requirements

To qualify, applicants must:

  • Be a youth-led, non-profit legal entity

  • Be registered in one of the EU’s 27 member states

  • Have project activities taking place within the EU

  • Align with the objectives of the Youth Climate Changemakers Fund

  • Not have previously received funding from or been involved in the EU DEAR programme
    Eligible organisations include:

  • Youth NGOs

  • Grassroots collectives

  • Feminist and ecofeminist organisations

  • Disability-inclusive advocacy groups

  • Community-based movements led by young people

Application Date and Process

  1. Review eligibility requirements to ensure organisational and geographic compliance.

  2. Prepare a project concept addressing climate justice, inclusion and youth leadership.

  3. Use the official application templates provided by Funding Fairer Futures.

  4. Demonstrate organisational capacity—especially for higher budget requests.

  5. Outline monitoring, evaluation and impact plans with measurable outcomes.

  6. Submit the full application before the call deadline.

  7. Acknowledge EU visibility requirements if funded, including branding and communication guidelines.

  8. Engage consistently with the program community and reporting obligations throughout the project.
