The Alberta Anti‑Racism Grant Program supports community organizations, Indigenous governments, and post-secondary institutions in Alberta to implement projects that educate the public about racism, promote cultural diversity, and build organizational capacity for anti-racism work.

Benefits of Government of Alberta Anti-Racism Grant Program

Two funding streams:

  • Stream 1: Up to $5,000 for projects aligning with at least one program objective.

  • Stream 2: Up to $10,000 for projects aligning with both objectives.

Government of Alberta Anti-Racism Grant Program Requirements

  • Organizations must be based in Alberta and be a non-profit organization; or Indigenous government, tribal council, band council, settlement or not-for-profit Indigenous organization.
  • Applicants who are currently receiving other grants or funding from the Government of Alberta must be up-to-date on all required reporting to be considered.
  • Universities, colleges, or institutes, as defined under Alberta’s Post-Secondary Learning Act; for-profit organizations; and arms-length municipal or municipal district affiliated organizations may apply in partnership with an Indigenous or ethnocultural organization.
  • Organizations must have a clear understanding of the project they want to undertake and how it will contribute to the goals of the grant program.
  • Organizations must have a clear budget and timeline for their project. The project must start on or after April 1, 2026, and be completed March 31, 2027.
  • Organizations must demonstrate that they have the capacity to undertake the project.

Application Date and Process

  • Create an Alberta.ca Account for Organizations.

  • Submit online with:

    • Detailed budget (template provided)

    • Direct deposit info (mandatory)

    • Sample financial statement

    • Optional partnership/reference letters

  • Only complete applications considered.
