African Bridge Network (ABN) is excited to begin recruitment for the 2025 Cohort of the Immigrant Professionals Fellowship. The Fellowship is a training and work-placement program targeting foreign-trained professionals for the healthcare and research fields. The program will target skilled immigrants residing in the Greater Boston and Metro North areas.

This program is a direct effort to address the racial and economic barriers that skilled immigrants face in the US labor market. The Fellowship seeks to place a number of talented, diverse, and multilingual immigrant professionals from different regions of the world in a paid Fellowship in a fast-paced work environment. Participants will gain the needed work experience to access jobs in their industry and advance their careers following the Fellowship. Please be aware that participation in the Fellowship does not guarantee full-time employment.

The Fellowship Tracks includes:

Research Administration Track

  • Fellows with a background in finance, legal, or interest in careers in healthcare will receive a six-week workplace readiness training by ABN and complete a Research Administration course by Emmanuel College. Their placement will be in project coordination positions in the Research Administration field, handling pre-award and post-award grant management duties. Watch this video to understand the Research Administrator role.

Healthcare General Track

  • Fellows with a background or interest in careers in healthcare will receive training in project management and a six-week workplace readiness training by ABN prior to their placement in a non-clinical position with a healthcare employer. Their placement will be in project coordination positions that align with their career goals.

Clinical Research Coordination Track

  • Fellows with a background or interested in careers in healthcare will receive a six-week workplace readiness training by ABN and complete a Research Coordinator training.
