The KAS Media Africa Local Journalism Award 2026 is an award program run by the Konrad Adenauer Stiftung’s Regional Media Programme for Sub-Saharan Africa. The award celebrates excellence in local journalism — stories that reflect community realities, shape public understanding, and connect local perspectives to broader national and global events.

Benefits of KAS Media Africa Local Journalism Award

• Three winners will be selected.

• Each winner receives:

  • An invitation to the Local Journalism Conference in Malawi (February 2026).

KAS Media Africa Local Journalism Award Requirements

• Work must have been published in 2025.
• Submissions can be in English or French.
• Each entry should include a brief description of the story’s background, the platform where it was published, and audience response.
