Lab2Market Launch is a transformative 4-month program designed to help entrepreneurial students and research teams turn innovative ideas into scalable technology-based ventures. Tailored for ambitious individuals ready to form, build, and grow their businesses, the program combines local innovation hub support with the credibility and resources of the national Lab2Market network.

Financial Support: Access $10,000 in stipends at no cost to participants.

Eligibility Requirements:
Team Composition: Each team must include:
A current graduate student (Masters or PhD), postdoctoral fellow (within 5 years of graduation), or a recent graduate within two years of completing their academic program in Canada.
Note: College students are eligible.
A faculty supervisor.
Market Validation: Teams should have conducted substantial primary market research, including at least 50 customer discovery interviews, and be able to demonstrate the market opportunity for their technology with supporting evidence.
Funding & Time Commitment:
The program is partially funded through the Mitacs Business Strategy Internship (BSI) program. Participants must:
Meet Mitacs eligibility requirements.
Commit full-time (30+ hours per week) to qualify for the stipend.
Note for Applicants: You are expected to have conducted thorough primary market research (i.e. stakeholder interviews), to determine if there is a significant market need for your theorized offering. You should be able to explain how your technology would solve your identified customer problem or improve upon existing products or services.
