The Momo Distribution Grant addresses gaps in the short film distribution landscape in Southeast Asia. It aims to support emerging filmmakers across all genres, including drama, animation, documentary, and experimental works. The program emphasizes regional production, festival and audience outreach, and structured distribution planning, helping directors maximize their film’s reach and impact.
The grant will support short films and their distribution journey each year with a cash amount of S$1000 each.
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Be a director of Southeast Asian descent and a citizen of a Southeast Asian country.
Have previously made a short film but not a feature film.
Full-time students are not eligible.
Films must be produced within Southeast Asia, defined as Cambodia, East Timor, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, the Philippines, Brunei, Singapore, Thailand, or Vietnam.
At submission, the short film must:
Be under 30 minutes.
Have a complete cut with English subtitles.
Not have been screened publicly.
Ownership remains solely with the applicant.
