About NSW Government Aboriginal Languages Week Grant Program

The NSW Aboriginal Languages Week Grant Program is a funding initiative that supports Aboriginal organisations and community groups in delivering events and activities during NSW Aboriginal Languages Week.The programme aims to celebrate the rich diversity of Aboriginal Languages across New South Wales while encouraging language learning, cultural preservation, community participation, and greater public awareness of the importance of Aboriginal Languages.

The programme provides:

• Minimum grant: $1,000
• Maximum grant: $6,000

NSW Government Aboriginal Languages Week Grant Program Requirements

Eligible applicants include Aboriginal Community-controlled, not-for-profit organisations working with Aboriginal communities in New South Wales, including:

• Aboriginal Corporations registered under the Corporations (Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander) Act 2006.
• Australian companies incorporated under the Corporations Act 2001.
• Local Aboriginal Land Councils.
• Incorporated associations.
• Incorporated cooperatives.
• Incorporated trustees acting on behalf of a trust.
• Unincorporated Aboriginal Community groups or individuals with an eligible auspicing organisation.
