The Strengthening Communities Multicultural Grants (SCMG) program is an annual initiative by the Queensland Government designed to support multicultural projects that foster inclusion, harmony, and unity across the state.

Benefits of Queensland Government Strengthening Communities Multicultural Grants program

Applications close on 18 November 2025 for projects starting 1 July 2026:

  1. Empowering Multicultural Community (EMC) Projects

    • Up to $100,000 for strategic projects addressing barriers and creating opportunities.

  2. Youth and Community Connection (Y&CC) Projects

    • Up to $100,000 for initiatives supporting young people from diverse backgrounds to feel connected and empowered.

Queensland Government Strengthening Communities Multicultural Grants program Requirements

You are eligible to apply if you are a:

  • Not-for-profit/charitable organisation legally registered in Australia.
  • Local Government body.
  • State School P&C Association.
  • Charitable institution established through specific legislation.
  • Queensland University.

And must:

  • have a registered and active Australian Business Number (ABN);
  • be an organisation based in Queensland; and
  • have no overdue reports, service delivery or performance issues for funding provided by Multicultural Affairs Queensland (MAQ).
