The Joint Egyptian Japanese Scientific Cooperation Grant Program supports scientific collaboration between Egyptian and Japanese researchers through joint research projects and coordinated academic exchange activities. The initiative aims to strengthen bilateral partnerships, promote knowledge exchange, and foster innovation in priority sectors that address shared societal and developmental challenges.
Egyptian Funding
Up to 750,000 Egyptian Pounds per year per project.
Maximum funding of 1,500,000 Egyptian Pounds per project over the entire project period.
Japanese Funding
Up to 2,500,000 Japanese Yen per fiscal year.
Maximum funding of 5,000,000 Japanese Yen per project over the entire project period.
Eligible Egyptian Applicants
Eligible participants from Egypt include:
State universities.
Private universities.
Higher education institutions.
Research institutions.
Research centers.
Commercial enterprises.
Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs).
Eligible Japanese Applicants
Japanese researchers must meet the eligibility requirements established under Japan’s national framework governing participation in collaborative research programs.
Applicants should comply with the applicable JSPS regulations and submission requirements.
