About AMWAJ Fellowship Programme

The AMWAJ Fellowship Programme for Journalists will give young professional journalists a boost in their early careers.  

They champion stories about sustainability and its derivative sub-themes of circular economyecosystem restorationenergy transitionsustainable mobility and water resources are what define our world today. Applications with a multimedia focus are particularly encouraged.

Benefits of AMWAJ Fellowship Programme

One applicant will be selected for the AMWAJ Fellowship Programme for Journalists. The first cycle of the Fellowship will take place over five months from October 2025 to February 2026. The successful applicant will receive a stipend of 4,000 euros, plus travel and accommodation costs for approved reporting expenses.

The successful applicant will:

  • Collaborate closely with and receive mentoring from the AMWAJ team
  • Have their work published in AMWAJ’s Stories/Tayyarat section,  REVOLVE’s magazine online, and potentially selected for  REVOLVE’s quarterly print magazine.
  • Have their work announced across AMWAJ social media channels and shared on the  AMWAJ playlist on YouTube.
  • Be provided with a profile on the Fellowship page, including your profile picture, biography, social media and/or website links, and any relevant and related articles, books, videos, and features you have produced.

AMWAJ Fellowship Programme Requirements

The AMWAJ Fellowship Programme for Journalists is open to young professional journalists (less than 5 years of experience) from the Southern and Eastern Mediterranean countries:

  • Jordan
  • Lebanon
  • Libya
  • Malta
  • Morocco
  • Palestine
  • Syria
  • Tunisia
  • Türkiye

  • Story Pitch, including details of the formats (e.g., article, video, podcast) you intend to use and links to previous work where applicable. (max 500 words ~ 1-page)
