The Thiel Fellowship is a global entrepreneurship and innovation program created to support young people who want to focus full-time on building impactful projects rather than completing a traditional university education.
Founded in 2011 by Peter Thiel, the fellowship encourages talented young builders, researchers, entrepreneurs, inventors, and creators to pursue breakthrough ideas by providing financial support and access to an influential network of experts and mentors.
Selected fellows receive:
Applicants must meet the following requirements:
Age Requirement
Must be 22 years old or younger at the time of application.
Education Requirement
Must not hold a university degree.
Current university students may apply.
Selected fellows must stop out of or leave university to participate in the program.
Project Requirement
Applicants do not need:
A registered company
A finished product
A co-founding team
Revenue or investment
However, applicants must demonstrate:
Significant progress toward a project or vision
Strong commitment to their work
Clear potential for impact
Ability to execute and build
Open to applicants worldwide.
Fellows may remain in their home country or current location
