The Tri-M Foundation Performing Arts Grant Program provides funding to organizations and artists producing compelling live performance work. The program emphasizes artistic ambition, public engagement, and projects that spark meaningful discussion. Both new works and reimagined classics are eligible, provided they offer fresh insight and relevance to the contemporary moment.
Grant awards range from $3,000 to $10,000
Projects must be completed within 12 months of receiving the award
Multi-year projects are not funded
Funds can support planning, production, performance, and related project costs
Small- to medium-sized non-profit arts organizations:
501(c)(3) designation
Minimum 2 years in operation
Annual budget under $1,000,000
Non-profit umbrella arts organizations producing festivals, supporting individual artists or groups without 501(c)(3) status
Individual artists or small organizations can apply via a fiscal sponsor with 501(c)(3) status
Prepare a project proposal that includes:
Alignment with your organization’s mission and vision
Project description and goals
Timeline and budget
Audience engagement and accessibility plan
Regional perspective or cultural relevance
Include supporting materials:
Letters of support, especially if using a fiscal sponsor
Evidence of previous work and organizational capacity
Submit the application by the deadline specified by Tri-M Foundation
