The Fulbright Faculty Development Program is designed for Georgian academics who want to improve their curriculum development, course design, and teaching practices through a five-month placement at a U.S. university or other eligible host institution.The programme gives participants an opportunity to learn from U.S. higher education practices and apply those approaches to their own academic fields.

U.S. Embassy in Georgia - Fulbright Faculty Development Program Requirements

Applicants must meet the programme’s academic, professional, citizenship, and language requirements.

Eligible applicants must:

  • Be a citizen or permanent resident of Georgia
  • Currently teach at a higher education institution
  • Have at least two years of teaching experience
  • Hold a university degree
  • Have sufficient English-language proficiency
  • Be able to participate fully in the five-month programme

  • Three (3) Letters of Reference (can be submitted online by instructors, professors or work supervisors)
  • Detailed Curriculum Vitae (resume)
  • Academic transcripts/diplomas (certified translation into English or verified copies of original academic transcript and degree certificate – scanned and attached to the application)
  • Official English translation of certificate for the current academic status (scanned and attached to the application)
  • Valid results from the U.S. standardized test – if available, please submit standardized test scores by the time of application submission, otherwise only short-listed candidates will be required to take the official TOEFL test in October 2026 with free vouchers provided.
  • Copy of passport
