The Copenhagen-based UNDP People Development Internship accepts applications from international applicants. This internships creates an opportunity for interns to support the implementation of the UNDP’s People for 2030 Strategy and the People Development Strategy (2024-25).
In line with the People for 2030 Strategy and People Development Strategy (2024-25), UNDP’s Talent Development Unit (TDU) in the Bureau for Management Services (BMS) is focused on enhancing professional growth opportunities. It includes providing training and support to help employees excel in their roles and progress in their careers.
This program is organized by the Talent Development Unit (TDU) at the Office of Human Resources (OHR), part of the Bureau for Management Services (BMS). Ideal candidates should have experience in one or more areas:
UNDP will pay the interns a monthly stipend to cover internship costs, which varies by duty station and may depend on additional financial support from a nominating institution or government.
The internship start dates are February/March 2025 or July 2025, depending on the candidate’s preference and UNDP’s needs.
Starting Date of the Internship - Selected candidate(s) will be expected to start their internship in February/March 2025 or 1 July 2025, depending on the selected candidates’ choice and UNDP’s needs.

UNDP interns are provided a monthly stipend to cover costs associated to the internship. The stipend amount varies from duty station to duty station. The amount can also vary depending on if a selected candidate receives financial support from a nominating institution, related institution, or government. For Copenhagen, this stipend is an equivalent of $1000 per month (exact amount to be confirmed).

Interns are selected on a competitive basis. Applicants to UNDP’s internships must meet one of the following academic requirements:
(a) Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);
(b) Be enrolled in the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum Bachelor’s level or equivalent);
(c) Have graduated with a university degree (as defined in (a) and (b) above) and, if selected, must start the internship within one-year of graduation.
