Opportunity Details
UNHCR’s Internship Programme offers eligible students and recent graduates the opportunity to gain experience in the humanitarian sector in line with their academic programme and future career aspirations.
Allowance & Costs
Interns receive a food and local transport allowance if not funded externally.
Allowance equals 50–70% of GS level 3 step 1 salary depending on duty station.
Remote internships are also compensated.
Travel costs reimbursed if relocating from outside the duty station country.
Interns must arrange and pay for their own visas and medical insurance.
Medical Insurance
Interns must provide proof of valid medical insurance covering accidents and illness.
Insurance should include emergency medical evacuation if needed.
To be considered for an internship, candidates must:
*Recent graduates are considered to be candidates who completed their studies within two years of applying for an internship with UNHCR.
