About World Health Summit Stipend & Fellowship Program
The Stipend & Fellowship Program provides financial and logistical support to enable participants to fully engage in the World Health Summit without financial barriers. The program is supported by the Wellcome Trust and aims to promote inclusive participation in global health discussions, ensuring diverse voices contribute to shaping policies and solutions for pressing health challenges worldwide
Benefits of World Health Summit Stipend & Fellowship Program
The World Health Summit will
- Book and pay for roundtrip economy class flights to and from Berlin.
- Book and pay for a hotel stay (4 nights incl. breakfast, Oct. 10-14) in walking distance to the WHS venue.
- Provide World Health Summit 2026 registration (incl. food and beverages).
- Cover miscellaneous expenses (reimbursement of up to 200€), e.g., for transport within Berlin. Please consult the “important remarks” section for further information.
- Cover visa and passport costs (reimbursement of up to 200€). Please consult the “important remarks” section for further information.
- Invite stipend recipients to participate in the World Health Summit’s Kick-Off reception on Saturday night (Oct. 10) ahead of the World Health Summit 2026.
World Health Summit Stipend & Fellowship Program Requirements
To be eligible for the participant stipend program, applicants must
- Hold the nationality of and must reside in a low- or middle-income country according to the World Bank categorization for 2025-2026 or have lived experience
- Complete each item of the application form:
- Personal information, including country of nationality and of residence
- Letter of motivation (min. 1 page, font size 11; max. 2 pages)
- CV
- Proof of activity in global health (e.g., work, advocacy group membership, letter of recommendation)
- Be eligible to apply for a short-term Schengen visa. • Have English fluency as the World Health Summit conference language is English
Application Date and Process
- Applications may only be submitted via the designated online form.
- The World Health Summit will announce the beginning of the application period publicly.
- The World Health Summit will contact each selected individual via email. In case a selected applicant is unable to accept the Stipend & Fellowship program, candidates from a waitlist will be contacted.
- Interested candidates are strongly encouraged to apply as early as possible, since applications are reviewed on a rolling basis and the application process may close once all spots are filled. All decisions are final and not subject to appeal.
