About WIPO Fellowship
The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Fellowship 2026-2027 offers a unique opportunity for professionals in library and information science, knowledge management, and research support to gain practical experience within a United Nations specialized agency. The fellowship is designed to strengthen participants’ professional expertise in knowledge management, library analytics, digital information services, and evidence-based decision-making.
The selected fellow will work alongside experienced professionals and contribute to projects that enhance WIPO’s global intellectual property knowledge resources.
Benefits of WIPO Fellowship
- Stipend: CHF 6,000 monthly.
- Travel expenses: WIPO shall contribute towards the cost of the fellow’s travel on engagement and separation from service. If necessary, WIPO may provide assistance in obtaining an entry visa to Switzerland.
- WIPO contributes towards the medical insurance and provides accident insurance coverage during the course of the fellowship.
- WIPO will request a “carte de legitimation” for the Fellow, which serves as a residence and work permit, from the Permanent Mission of Switzerland to the United Nations Office and to the other international organizations in Geneva. Family members of the Fellow are not eligible for a “carte de legitimation.”
WIPO Fellowship Requirements
- have at least a first-level degree in library, information science, knowledge management or a related field. Recognized professional qualification.
- have at least two years of professional experience working in a library, knowledge management, research support, or related environment.
- Experience collecting, managing, and analyzing library or information-related data.
- Experience working with usage statistics, service metrics, or other performance data to support assessment activities.
- have experience preparing analytical reports and presenting findings to support decision-making.
- have experience using spreadsheet software and data analysis tools.
